The WEST is a series of computer-based exams designed by the Washington Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) to assess the skills and knowledge of prospective educators in the state of Washington.

Scheduling is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the WEST NES website from your account.

Registration Information

All candidates are required to produce a valid, unexpired, original photo identification at check-in. The Assessment Center is not permitted to test candidates without acceptable identification. Visit the WEST NES website to select and view any exam's complete identification policy.

Test Prep Materials

Your test scores will be reported to you and any institution that you indicate as a score recipient when you register. If applicable, scores are also reported directly to the relevant state agency responsible for educator licensure and are automatically added to your licensure application file. Yes. You may re-take any WEST exam by waiting 30 days and completing the registration process over again.
