Current students who wish to register for classes will do that via MyCBC:
You can add a class until the second day of the quarter without instructor approval. For information on how to add, please see “How do I register for classes?” above.
After the second day of the quarter, you will need an instructor to sign the override form below and submit it to the appropriate program/division office. Once the override is approved, staff in the academic program/division office will add permission in ctcLink so that you can register online for the class.
You can also email the instructor asking for their permission to enroll in the class. The email from the instructor must include the course ID (e.g. ENGL& 101) and the class number. If they approve, attach the email to the Override Form and submit it to the academic program/division as described above.
You may be eligible to drop or withdraw from a class and receive a refund depending on the timing. Refund eligibility, withdrawal deadlines, and grading impacts vary.
For the most current information on deadlines, please visit our Dates & Deadlines page.
If you are receiving Financial Aid, please make sure to speak with a Hawk Central Specialist about how this change will affect your funding.
You must have current placement scores or have passed certain math and English courses to make a financial aid plan. Check with the CBC Assessment Center if you're unsure about your placement status.
If you have transfer credits, visit our Transfer of Credits page to learn how to submit your official transcripts for evaluation. If you are a transfer student and this is your first quarter at CBC, bring in a copy of your unofficial transcripts to Counseling & Advising to register for the upcoming quarter only.
Your advisement report will tell you if you are ready to complete a graduation application. If so, please make an appointment with your Completion Coach. You can do this at any time, but it must be completed. You should complete your graduation application as you are registering for your final quarter at CBC. For all other graduation information, please visit our Graduation page.
Diplomas will be mailed after your degree or certificate has been officially awarded and posted to your transcript. Processing and mailing times may vary.
For more information about diplomas and how to know when your degree or certificate has been posted, please visit our Graduation FAQ page.
Colleges have many important deadlines and requirements that you will need to meet to successfully transfer. We encourage you to prepare a transfer strategy by making an appointment with your Completion Coach.
Visit the Transfer of Credit page and use Transfer Explorer to preview how coursework from other institutions may transfer to CBC.
Note: Transfer Explorer is a planning tool and not an official credit evaluation. Official evaluations occur after CBC receives your official transcripts.
Submit your official transcripts so your previous courses can be evaluated. Once you are notified your evaluation is complete, you can schedule an appointment with a Completion Coach.
Yes! One of the most important things you need to do as a transfer student is to request your official transcripts from your previous college be sent to CBC for evaluation.
After the evaluation is complete, you'll be notified and may then schedule an appointment with a Completion Coach.
What is an Early Alert?
It’s a heads-up from your instructors when they notice something might be getting
in the way of your success—like missing assignments, low test scores, or changes in
attendance.
Why do Early Alerts Matter for You? We know college can be challenging—and we’re here to support you every step of the way. Our Early Alert system is designed to help you stay on track and succeed by making sure you get the right support at the right time.
What happens next?
You’ll be connected with resources that can help—like advising or tutoring. It’s not
a punishment—it’s support.
Why it helps:
Early Alerts give you a chance to turn things around before small issues become big
ones. Students who take action early are more likely to pass their classes, keep their
financial aid, and reach their goals.
Your success is our priority.
When we reach out, it’s because we care—and we believe in your ability to succeed.
