What is Outreach & Recruitment?

If you are new to the Tri-Cities, new to planning for college or looking at college options, the CBC Outreach & Recruitment team is excited to help you! Our Outreach team partners with local schools and community organizations to provide presentations, workshops, exhibit booths and information sessions on college and career options. If you are looking to schedule a visit to campus or a guest speaker for your classroom, we are excited to connect with you!

Hi, I'm Erika. I grew up in the Tri-Cities where I attended Washington State University Tri-Cities to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Education. I am excited to be able to connect with students and have conversations about the different career opportunities we have programs for at CBC. I looks forward to helping students move in the direction of their goals.

Hello, I'm Vanessa, a U.S. Navy Veteran originally from El Paso, Texas, and now proud to call the Tri Cities home for almost a decade. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from Columbia College of Missouri. I'm passionate about empowering students to embark on their journey at CBC. We offer a wide array of options tailored to meet your specific needs!

Hi, I'm Emily. I grew up in Sammamish, WA and studied music at Central Washington University then earned my Masters in Arts Administration (MA) from Florida State Univeristy. I'm excited to connect with students on the career-based opportunities offered at CBC based on their interests and goals.

Hi, I'm Jason. I grew up in the Tri Cities and graduated from Kennewick High School. I attended CBC before joining the Air Force, then moved back to Pasco and attended WSU Tri Cities where I received a Bachelor degree in Social Sciences.

As the Reentry Navigator, my goal is to help create a welcoming, supportive, and respectful process for all currently and formerly incarcerated students in the area. I look forward to applying my knowledge and skills to recruit, enroll, and retain justice-involved individuals into academic, vocational, and pre-college classes and programs.

Hi, I'm Melanie. I grew up in Oregon where I earned my Masters in Business Administration (MBA). I have worked in higher education advocating for students through roles in both admission and financial aid.

At CBC, I work to coordinate opportunities for CBC to connect with schools and in our community. My goal is to help individuals see how higher education can benefit them in their future goals. 

I also serve as:

  • Contact for Financial Aid Workshops
  • Contact for Campus Visits
  • Contact for CBC representation at events

If you want to learn more about CBC, our Student Recruitment team is always excited to share about the college. We enjoy hosting individuals and groups on campus and going into the community presenting to businesses or visiting a classroom.

Most presentations can be offered in English and Spanish.

Presentation are available virtually and in-person.

Campus Visit Options Include:

  • Individual/Small Group Scheduled Tour
  • Individual/Small Group Drop-In Tour
  • Group Visits
  • Class Field Trips
  • Special Events (To showcase specific academic areas on campus)

 

Tours will be modified for class trips to provide age appropriate college information.

Tours can be provided in Spanish upon request and availability.


Student Ambassador Program

Each year CBC hires engaging and motivated students to serve as leaders on campus through the Student Ambassador program. Ambassadors provide a vital role in sharing a message on campus and in our community about going to college and student life at CBC.

The application for the CBC Ambassador program has closed for the 2023-2024 academic year.
