CBC Foundation Scholarship Application

Be one of more than 600 students who receive a scholarship through the CBC Foundation in 2022-2023 academic year.

A single scholarship application matches you to various scholarships offered by the Foundation. We offer scholarships based on field of study, financial need, academic performance and more. Each scholarship has its own set of criteria, but most require a minimum 2.0 GPA. You do not have to be FAFSA or WASFA eligible in order to apply.

Our scholarship application for the 2022-2023 academic year is open now! It will close on February 28, 2022. Click the Get Started Today button below to complete your application. Any individual who will be enrolled (or possibly enrolled) in the 2022-2023 academic year should apply.

We have launched a new scholarship application this year, all applicants will need to create a new account. Follow these steps to successfully complete your application.

  1. Create an account. (CBC students should use their student email; prospective students should use their personal email account.)
  2. Complete your application by answering various multiple choice, short answer and essay questions to tell your story.
  3. Upload your unofficial transcript.
  4. Submit and you’re done with the general application!

Student Emergency Fund

Columbia Basin College Foundation’s Emergency Need Fund is funded in partnership with STCU in order to assist students who are experiencing an unforeseen financial crisis that is creating a barrier to their student success. The fund provides small grants to students who are experiencing a one-time financial hardship that is unlikely to occur again.

Scholarship FAQ

Most of our scholarships require students to be enrolled in at least 10 credits and have a 2.0 GPA or higher. If you’re unsure, please email%20us%20and we will answer any questions that you have.

No, you do not need to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for scholarships.

Yes, students who are not eligible for other types of aid, including FAFSA and WASFA, may still qualify for a scholarship. 

Yes, students who have not been accepted to CBC can still apply. You can leave the student ID question blank if you do not have one. However, enrollment confirmation is necessary if you are awarded a scholarship.

Yes! Our scholarships are available to all students attending Columbia Basin College. If you are a non-traditional student, or you have been out of school for more than five years, unofficial transcripts are not required. 

Yes, to be considered for a scholarship each year, students must apply on our website during one of our open scholarship cycles. Information on current scholarship cycles can be found at the top of this page.  
We will contact you using the email address you provided when creating your account. Students who did not receive an award will be notified via email as well. If you have not received an email from the Foundation, please check your spam folder.
Financial aid will automatically apply your scholarship to your financial aid account every quarter. If you don’t see your award on your financial aid account within two weeks of the tuition deadline, please contact financial%20aid.%20
Scholarships are applied to tuition and fees. If the scholarship award exceeds tuition for the quarter, the remaining scholarship funds may be sent to the CBC bookstore as a book voucher. Scholarship awards are not distributed to students directly. 
Columbia Basin College Foundation scholarships can only be used at Columbia Basin College. 
Students who are taking less than the required credit amount must email the Foundation to get special permission to receive their scholarship for the quarter. Arrangements should be made as soon as the student drops below the credit requirement.  
Please email the Foundation to make arrangements as soon as you are aware that you are not attending the full year.
Students are required to complete the post-acceptance questionnaire after receiving a scholarship. Scholarships will be re-awarded after three unsuccessful attempts by the scholarship program to contact the student for their post-acceptance.
The CBC Foundation offers two opportunities to apply for scholarships. The first cycle is open from January 1 - February 28 each year and those scholarships are for the fall, winter and spring quarters of the upcoming year. The second cycle is open August 15 - October 1 of each year and those scholarships are for winter and spring quarters of that year.
For first year students accepted into the nursing program, there will be a second opportunity to apply. Nursing program staff will reach out with more information after you have been accepted to the program.
