I-BEST Programs at Columbia Basin College
What is I-BEST?
Washington’s Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training Program or I-BEST is a nationally recognized model that uses a team-teaching approach to quickly boost students’ literacy while they learn job skills or academic subjects.
Students work with two instructors in the classroom: one provides job-training or the core academic subject, and the other teaches basic skills in reading, math or English language. Students get ahead faster with the help they need to reach their educational goals.
I‑BEST programs also include a Retention Specialist who assists students outside the classroom—helping with applications, funding options, and campus resources—to ensure they have every opportunity to succeed.
The following certificate programs have been identified as careers in high demand for the Columbia Basin and offer academic support using the I-BEST model.
