Focus2 Career Exploration

Need help figuring out what careers might a good fit for you? CBC students have FREE access to Focus2, an online career assessment tool that asks questions about your interests, values, and personality, and then provides personalized results with information about possible careers.

Focus2 guides users through a reliable, intuitive career and education decision making model to help you select majors, explore occupations, make informed career decisions, and take action in your career development.

To get started:

1. Log in to Focus2 using your CBC Student Email

Login to Focus2

2. Take the Focus2 Assessments

Focus2 consists of four different assessments: Work Interests, Values, Personality and Leisure Preferences.

3. Review your results

Focus2 can combine your answers from the different assessments you complete and match you with real career options. Career data comes from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and includes specific job tasks, qualifications, salary, job outlook and more.

Keep in mind that Focus 2 is not exhaustive of all the job titles out there. Use your results as a starting point to look for themes in industries and job responsibilities that might appeal to you.

You can print out all your results yourself. We also recommend you meet with a Counselor to further explain your results and discuss career planning. To set an appointment contact Counseling & Advising at 509-542-5505 or counselingFREECOLUMBIA_BASIN.

More Career Exploration Resources

Assessments are a great way to begin your career exploration, and we’ve made it easy for you to start researching with a compilation of free assessment tools available to you online. These online tools can help you better understand your strengths, interests, and values as you explore potential career paths.

Keep in mind that no single assessment can tell you "what you should be." Successful career planning may require multiple assessment tools. To gain a well-rounded understanding of who you are, we recommend taking multiple assessments and comparing the results. This will give you valuable insights into your personality, skills, and what excites you about the future.
