PASCO, Wash. - CBC is partnering with the Benton Franklin Health District and the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to offer its second “pop-up” vaccine clinic Thursday, July 15th, from 9am to noon on CBC’s Pasco Campus. Participants can choose among Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines. There is no cost or insurance requirements, and people ages 12 and up are eligible to participate. Courtesy of the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the CBC Foundation, the first 100 participants will receive $50 gift cards.

Participants will enter the CBC campus on Saraceno Way off of Argent, and park in the H Building parking lot. Signs will direct participants to the T Building to receive vaccination. There are no reservations being taken for this event.

Meanwhile, Columbia Basin College is proud to announce a generous scholarship incentive intended to increase COVID-19 vaccination rates amongst students at CBC.  The State Board of Community and Technical Colleges provided the College with $10,000 in scholarship money to support this incentive program. The College is distributing this scholarship money to ten students in the amount of $1,000 per student awardee.

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must have completed six or more credits during the Spring 2021 quarter, be a resident of Washington state, not have graduated or completed their program, and have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., Pfizer, Moderna, or  Johnson & Johnson vaccines).

On July 26, 2021, the College will draw potential scholarship awardees.  Those awardees will have 48 hours to show proof of vaccination status, either in person or over zoom, to the Student Records Department.

Acceptance of a Vaccine Incentive Award may affect a student’s eligibility for and calculated amounts of Federal Financial Aid and/or Public Assistance Programs. Eligible students will be notified directly by the college via their CBC email.
