TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Columbia Basin College hosted the 29th annual remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr. Monday.

Nearly 100 people gathered on the CBC campus to participate in the bell ringing-ceremony.

A statue on the campus of a boy carrying books walking alongside King represents his belief in education and the CBC President, Dr.Rebekah Woods spoke about the importance of those beliefs.

"Dr. King lived to help those who needed him most and we strive to follow his legacy by insuring that all people have access to a quality education that can change their lives and their families lives,” said Dr. Woods.

Dr. Woods hopes people will continue to honor King after today. It has been 57 years since King gave his famous ‘I have a dream’ speech.
