What is the Academic Success Center?

We're here to help YOU! The Academic Success Center provides FREE tutoring to all CBC students in a variety of subjects. Our tutors are available to assist you with reviewing previous exams, studying for upcoming tests, completing homework and answering other questions in one-on-one or small group settings. Check-in with our friendly welcome desk staff upon your arrival, and we'll get you set up with the help you need!

Free Online Tutoring 

The Academic Success Center (ASC) is providing FREE tutoring online while CBC operates remotely! Our tutors are available to assist you in reviewing for class, preparing for upcoming tests, and answering other questions via Zoom. Visit our Canvas page to sign in, view the schedule and get started.

Our writing tutors are available for appointments online via Zoom while CBC operates remotely! Please note that you must sign in at the time of the appointment to access the Zoom links; no link will be sent via email. Our writing tutors offer advice and assistance with writing, revising, reorganizing and syntax. We also offer help with pre-writing tasks such as brainstorming ideas, outlining, developing writing skills and locating research information.

Individual Quiet Study Spaces Available on Campus

Reserve an individual quiet study space on our Pasco and Richland campus so you can get away from your distractions at home to focus on your studies. WI-FI and some computers are available, so reserve your space today!

Quiet study space is available on our Pasco campus at the Academic Success Center, T Building, Room T433, while the College continues remote operations. Study space is limited and must be reserved in advance. Please visit the link below to review the Quiet Study Space Agreement and make a reservation.

  • Tuesday and Wednesday: 10 am to 2 pm

Note: You must complete a health screening at the health screening station in the HUB (H Building) before proceeding to the ASC, wear a COVID-19-appropriate face mask that covers the mouth and nose at all times on campus and maintain a minimum 6-foot social distance between yourself and individuals at all times.

Reserve Quiet Space: Pasco

Quiet study space is available on our Richland campus in the RA Building, Room RA110, while the College continues remote operations. Study space is limited and must be reserved in advance. Please visit the link below to make a reservation. Students who reserve study space must understand and agree to the Quiet Study Space Agreement on the confirmation page and confirmation email.

  • Monday: 11 am to 3 pm
  • Tuesday: 7 am to 11 am

eTutoring

Can’t make it into the Academic Success Center? Need tutoring support in your own home or on your own time? We have partnered with eTutoringOnline.org to provide free online tutoring to all CBC students.

eTutoring Features:
The online writing lab allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback and receive your work back with a tutor's response within 24 to 48 hours.
Live tutoring allows you to meet with a tutor in one-on-one tutoring sessions via a fully interactive, online environment.

Submit a specific question for any of the subject areas covered, and an eTutor will respond within 24 to 48 hours.
