Pick Fresh Produce at CBC’s Teaching Garden
Welcome to Columbia Basin College’s Teaching Garden — where sustainability, health, and community grow together!
Our garden is open to all CBC students, faculty, and staff who want to enjoy fresh, locally grown produce right here on campus. Whether you're looking to supplement your meals with seasonal fruits and vegetables or simply enjoy the benefits of being outdoors, we invite you to pick what’s ripe and ready.
How It Works
- Check the Signs: Look for signage that indicates what’s ready to be harvested. We update these regularly with information about what's in season.
- Harvest Responsibly: Please take only what you need and leave plenty for others. Bring your own reusable bag or container if you can.
- Practice Garden Etiquette: Be gentle with the plants and mindful of your surroundings. This space is maintained with care by students, volunteers, and staff.
- Give Back (If You Can): Consider volunteering in the garden or donating seeds, tools, or time to help us keep this space thriving.
Why It Matters
By picking fresh produce from our garden, you’re supporting:
- 🌱 Local, Sustainable Food Systems – Reducing the carbon footprint associated with food transport.
- 💪 Healthy Eating Habits – Making nutritious options more accessible to our campus community.
- 🌎 Environmental Stewardship – Encouraging hands-on engagement with sustainable practices.
