Ways to Give

Student Scholarships

For many students, a scholarship can determine whether they even attend CBC. For others, it means they don’t have to work multiple jobs while pursuing their education and building a better life.

Any donation amount contributes to changing a student’s life. Your donation may be a one-time gift of any size, or you may select to create a permanent scholarship. Permanent scholarships can be made anonymously, in your name, your family, company or organization’s name, or as a memorial to a loved one.

CBC Foundation Scholarships

Gifts under $1,500 join with others to provide a student a much needed scholarship.

Through a yearly donation of $1,500 or more, you can establish an annual named scholarship. Your scholarship can be named to honor an individual, group or business, or it can remain anonymous.

Donors may create an endowed scholarship fund with gifts of $25,000 or more, given as a one-time gift or over time. With an endowment, your gift is deposited into a permanent investment account managed by the CBC Foundation. Each year, a portion of the annual proceeds provide a scholarship to a deserving student. With optimal investment performance, the principal in your endowment also grows, to guarantee continued support of student scholarships across generations. You can make additional gifts to your endowed scholarship fund at any time to grow your impact, including a legacy gift.

With annual or endowed scholarships, you have the option to specify the criteria a student must meet to be considered for the award, such as field of study, GPA or financial need. You also have the opportunity to meet the student or students who benefited from your support, during the annual Columbia Basin College Student Scholarship Award Reception.

College Priorities

CBC Student Emergency Fund
Columbia Basin College Foundation’s Emergency Need Fund was established to assist students who are experiencing an unforeseen financial crisis that is creating a barrier to their student success. The fund provides small grants to students who are experiencing a one-time financial hardship that is unlikely to occur again. Your support can make the difference in allowing a student to overcome an emergency, continue with their education and complete their degree here at CBC. Support the student emergency fund today!

CBC Food Pantry

CBC Food Pantry
Columbia Basin College has partnered with Second Harvest to offer a food pantry on the CBC campus. The pantry helps the many student at CBC who experience food insecurity. The food pantry is available to all CBC students to help eliminate hunger. We invite the community to join us in this effort by providing non-perishable food items, basic hygiene supplies, or supporting the food pantry through a cash donation.

The Badalamente Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) scholarship has been established by the Richard V. and Patricia C. Badalamente Family in recognition of the crucial role community colleges play in serving the higher education needs of an increasingly diverse student population, and the role Columbia Basin Community (CBC) College in particular can play in contributing to an increasing number of students studying and ultimately working in climate change and related fields, particularly in the Pacific Northwest.

Leave a Legacy

At CBC, students and faculty invest in a brighter future for the Tri-Cities every single day. By making a planned gift to the CBC Foundation, you can share your success and help make education accessible for all students.

Funding your legacy is as easing as changing the beneficiary on an IRA or life insurance, or remembering the CBC Foundation through a charitable gift in your will or trust. We are happy to discuss alternative gift options, which may provide immediate or deferred tax advantages for you and your family.
