Ways to Give

Student Scholarships

For many students, a scholarship can determine if they even attend CBC. For others, it means they don’t have to work multiple jobs while pursuing their education.

Any donation contributes to changing a student’s life. Your donation may be a one-time gift of any size, or you can create a permanent scholarship. Permanent scholarships can be made anonymously, in your name, your family, company or organization’s name, or as a memorial to a loved one.

CBC Foundation Scholarships

Your gift, regardless of the size, can make an impact on students attending CBC. Gifts under $1,500 are joined with others to provide a student with a much-needed scholarship.

Through a yearly donation of $1,500 or more, you can establish an annual named scholarship. Your scholarship can be named to honor an individual, group or business, or it can remain anonymous.

Donors may create an endowed scholarship fund with gifts of $25,000 or more, given as a one-time gift or over time. With an endowment, your gift is deposited into a permanent investment account managed by the CBC Foundation. Each year, a portion of the annual proceeds provide a scholarship to a deserving student. With optimal investment performance, the principal in your endowment also grows, to guarantee continued support of student scholarships across generations. You can make additional gifts to your endowed scholarship fund at any time.

With annual or endowed scholarships, you have the option to specify the criteria a student must meet to be considered for the award, such as field of study, GPA or financial need. You also have the opportunity to meet the student or students who benefited from your support, during the annual Columbia Basin College Student Scholarship Award Reception.

College Priorities

While there are countless programs at CBC that you can support, the following have been identified as priority areas for individuals to fund. For information on these or other projects at CBC, please contact%20us today!

CBC Student Emergency Fund
Columbia Basin College established the CBC Cares Emergency Fund to assist Hawks experiencing an unforeseen financial crisis creating a barrier to their educational success. The fund provides small grants to students for a financial hardship that is unlikely to occur again. Your support can make a difference by helping a CBC student overcome an emergency to continue their education. Support the CBC Cares Student Emergency Fund today!

CBC Food Pantry
Columbia Basin College has partnered with Second Harvest to offer a food pantry on campus. The pantry helps the many students at CBC who experience food insecurity and help eliminate hunger. We invite the community to join us in this effort by providing non-perishable food items and basic hygiene supplies or supporting the food pantry through a cash donation.

The Richard V. and Patricia C. Badalamente Family established the Badalamente Earth and Environmental Sciences (BEES) scholarship in recognition of the crucial role community colleges play in serving the higher education needs of an increasingly diverse student population. Also, the role Columbia Basin Community College, in particular, can play in contributing to an increasing number of students studying and ultimately working in climate change and related fields, particularly in the Pacific Northwest.

Power of Connection

The annual fundraising gala for the CBC Foundation, called Power of Connection, helps raise funds for CBC student scholarships.

We could not do the important work of providing scholarships to students in need without the backing of the business community and supporters of CBC.

Your sponsorship will make a significant difference by offsetting program costs, so we can provide more scholarships to Hawks who need our help to achieve their dreams.

Contact%20us today to learn more about the Power of Connection event, sponsorship levels and how you can get involved!
