Local media are invited to CBC’s Pasco Campus at 11am Wednesday, June 2nd for a “topping off” ceremony for the college’s highly-visible Student Recreation Center construction project. This ceremony marks the approximate midway point of construction and the last major piece of structural steel.

College personnel will be on hand to discuss the project’s progress. The SRC is slated to open in 2022, offering 80,000 square feet of fitness, athletic competition, and multi-purpose instructional space. The college’s current gym and fitness center remain in use, but will be demolished after the SRC is completed. The SRC is designed by RGU Architecture and is being constructed by Lydig Construction.

Media will meet in the CBC Foundation parking lot, which is accessed by entering campus on 20th Ave, turning left, and traveling along the south end of campus to the construction site.

Video animation of the project interior and exterior, and “helmet cam” video from the topping off ceremony are available upon request. Contact Jay at 509-388-6515 or jfrankFREECOLUMBIA_BASIN for a video or photo download.
