Other Washington community college, WSU Tri-Cities, and Heritage University students and faculty may apply for borrowing privileges at the CBC Library. This eligibility is extended as part of reciprocal agreements which provide our students and faculty similar privileges at their institutions. Proof of current affiliation is required and some limitations apply.
Find books and resources at your fingertips when you login to your Library account. You can also find out what you've checked out, what's due and other helpful information!
Course Reserves include books, articles and other items that instructors reserve for individual courses.
Instructors' personal copies of reserve items are kept behind the main desk in our "Reserve Circulation." Library-owned items can be found on the first shelf of the Reference Collection in our "Reserve Reference."
Most course reserve items are limited to in-library use only, but some may have one-day, three-day, or one-week loan period, depending on the instructors' directions. Our staff will be happy to help you determine the policy for individual items.
We try to have as many required textbooks as we can available for you. These are highly used items, so most of them can’t leave the library—but we do have free scanners!
Check at the front desk if you’re looking for a textbook or required reading.
Computers and WiFi
Three computer labs are available to use, including the:
- Collaborative room
- Main lab
- Library classroom
WiFi is accessed with your CBC student login. Community members can request a guest account at the front desk.
Laptops and Hotspots
We are excited to be able to offer loaner laptops as a part of our lending library. Please note the following rights and responsibilities:
- You must have a valid student ID card.
- Availability is at the discretion of the Library staff.
- No laptop loans will be made during the last 15 minutes the Library is open.
- You'll need to sign an updated Laptop Loan Agreement each quarter.
- You are financially responsible for loss of the laptop and any of its components. If a laptop or any of its components are determined to be lost or stolen, you'll be responsible for replacement costs as well as a processing fee.
- It is your responsibility to check the condition of the laptop before leaving the Library and bring any issues to the attention of Library staff. The condition of the laptop will be noted upon return.
You have a $12 credit per quarter to use for printing anywhere it is available on campus, including the printers in the Library.
Black and white printing is five cents per page. Color printing is 10 cents per page.
Need to print more copies? Purchase additional funds at the library’s front desk. (We’ll charge it to your MyCBC account.)
Scanning and Copying
We have two free book scanners that quickly allow you to scan book pages to a USB flash drive or your email.
Our scanners are also copiers with black and white copies available at five cents and color copies are 10 cents per page.
