Sharon Yedidia

Associate Professor of Spanish Interpreting

I began my teaching career at CBC in 2006 as an adjunct instructor. I have taught first and second-year Spanish and French courses, and I am the instructor and director of the Spanish Medical Interpreter program. In addition to teaching, I am an experienced and state certified medical, court and social services interpreter in Spanish. I love interpreting, and I continue to be an active freelance interpreter in our local community. I developed the Spanish Medical Interpreter program at CBC in 2015. The program allows me to combine my passion for teaching with my expertise in interpreting, as I train bilingual students in interpreting skills and introduce them to a career that has the potential to change lives.

When I am not teaching or interpreting, I love to travel, in particular to Spanish-speaking countries. Over the past six years I have done nine solo backpacking trips around Central and South America.
