Former Columbia Basin College women’s soccer standout Julissa Rodriguez has signed a contract to play for professional club Keynsham Town LFC in the FA Women’s Premier League, England.
Julissa recently arrived in England and started her professional playing career almost upon arrival. Within the first week, she played 90 minutes in two preseason games. Keynsham Town LFC and Julissa kick-off the 2013-14 FA Women’s Premier League with an away game on August 25, 2013 vs. Gillingham LFC.
Julissa started her collegiate career with CBC by leading the Hawks to back-to-back championship appearances in 2008 and 2009. She was voted the NWAACC Final Four MVP for her hat-trick in the 2008 Final resulting in a championship for the Hawks.
Julissa’s accolades while at CBC include recognition as a two-time NWAACC All-Star selection; the 2009 Eastern Region MVP; the 2008 Final-Four MVP; and she lead the league in scoring in 2009 with 28 goals. After scoring 52 goals in two seasons with CBC, Julissa transferred to NCAA Division II New Mexico Highlands University where she continued her success as a forward in 2010 and 2011 with the Cowgirls.
During her illustrious career at New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU), Julissa was named to the Daktronics NCAA DII Women's Soccer All-America Third Team for both seasons. Julissa finished her career at NMHU being a two-time All-American, a two-time Daktronics All-Region First Team Selection, as well as a two-time Daktronics Central Region Player of the Year. She was also a two-time All-RMAC First Team selection, as well as being named the RMAC's Player of the Year in each of her two seasons at NMHU.
Julissa finished her collegiate career as the All-Time Leading Scorer for the Hawks and Cowgirls with 52 and 31 career goals, respectively in her four seasons.
