The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (the “Clery Act”) requires that a number of non-security campus affiliated individuals report crime statistics to campus security departments each year. The information is used for the College’s Annual Security Report published each October 1. Many individuals, and students in particular, are sometimes more comfortable with reporting crimes to non-security persons such as athletic team coaches, faculty and staff advisors to student organizations, and others who serve in functional positions that involve relationships with students and/or who have significant responsibility for student and campus activities.
Whether you are defined as a campus security authority for the purposes of reporting or you are a victim of a crime that occurs on our campus, or observe criminal activity, or if someone reports a crime to you, contact Columbia Basin College Campus Security at (509) 542-4777, 2600 North 20th Avenue, V Building, Pasco WA 99301. The CBC Security department is open Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
While it is important that the reporting requirements of the Clery Act are met, we are also interested in acting in response to the information as requested by the student to ensure a safe campus environment for our students, staff, and guests.
Reporting
Incident Report Forms can be submitted electronically by eForm. If preferred, a hard copy of the Incident Report Form can be found
here and may be submitted to Security by e-mail or hand/campus deliver.
Clery Act Crimes
The Clery Act requires that four general categories of crimes be included in the annual reporting of crime statistics: criminal offenses, hate crimes, VAWA offenses, and arrests and referrals for disciplinary action. Visit the Clery Act Crimes Definitions page for full definitions of all reportable crimes.
