Let's say you take the exam and place into MATH 083 (currently the lowest entry level math class); however, your goal requires a calculus pathway. The following classes would need to be completed in order to reach precalculus, your first college-level math course:
Once you complete Math 95 you can finally take your first college-level class: MATH&141. These extra classes can cost you hundred to thousands of dollars! Not to mention additional quarters of homework in order to graduate.
English placement consists of a reading and writing assessment. Coupling these scores determines your English placement. CBC degree programs require college level English and reading course completion for graduation. Placement into lower English and reading courses demand extra time and money to reach college-level.
