*AS OF 5/28/15, BOTH CAMPS ARE NOW FULL!*
You may still turn in your application WITHOUT the registration fee to be placed on our waiting list in case of cancellations.
Campers entering grades 1 and 2 will explore the fascinating world of light, experiment with reflection, refraction, and absorption, investigate properties of pigments, and learn about how to use various tools and optics to change our view of our immediate surroundings and the wider universe. During the course of the week, students will have guided instruction on using microscopes, telescopes, prisms, lenses, and mirrors, and will learn all about the physics of color and light. By the end of the week, Roy G. Biv will be their new best friend! This camp will be held July 13-17.
Campers entering grades 3, 4, and 5 will take a trip around our solar system and see what makes the Earth so special; learn about the various space exploration missions and what they have taught us about the universe we live in; discover other worlds that exist beyond our own; and identify stars and constellations that can be seen in their own backyards. Closer to home, various interactive projects will explore basic concepts in physics.
Perfect for the curious kid who loves space, this week-long crash-course in astronomy and physics will expose campers to the wonders of the universe. This camp will be held July 20-24.
