Columbia Basin College (CBC) awards credit for completing International Baccalaureate examinations. The IB program, available in several countries (hence “International”), rigorously prepares you for a college-level liberal arts education while you are still in high school. IB exams and their equivalent courses at CBC are included on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Test Score Equivalencies at CBC. A minimum score of four or higher on the standard-level or higher-level IB exam is required to be considered for credit. No credit will be awarded if the same course is taken at CBC or any other college.
IB scores, even once added to your transcript, are subject to re-evaluation at institutions outside the Community and Technical College system, including baccalaureate institutions both inside and outside of Washington State. If you plan on transferring to one of these schools, we encourage you to explore how IB credits may be applied there.
Good luck pursuing IB credits! We look forward to granting you credit here at CBC for your success in the IB program.
