RICHLAND, Wash. - The hospitality program at Columbia Basin College is hosting its first fundraiser with a culinary focus.
Anyone in the community is invited to attend one of three artisan butchery workshops the program will put on next month.
Participants will get to learn about the art of artisan butchery, from filleting to cooking.
The workshops will be led by nationally-recognized artisan butcher Tracy Smaciarz along with Pat Mallon, who raises cattle and owns a meat shop in Oregon.
All of the proceeds will go towards CBC's hospitality program which launched in January.
The workshops cost $350 each and will take place on June 20, 21 and 22 from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Meals on Wheels kitchen in Richland. Registration is open now and classes are limited to only 15 participants.
