PASCO, Wash.-- Columbia Basin College's High School Academy Mars Rover Team is heading to a national competition next month to compete against schools around the country.
The team, called the Intellectual Space Hawks, will compete in NASA's Human Exploration Rover Challenge in Huntsville, Alabama.
The event challenges students to build a Mars rover that they then drive through an obstacle course that is a simulated Mars surface and environment.
CBC said the event is meant to promote interest in STEM education.
The challenge will take place on April 13-14.
