Remote Registration FAQ

Remote Registration FAQ

CBC employees are working remotely, but that doesn’t mean we’re not here for you! We’re encouraging every student who can register themselves online to use our web registration portal, but we know there are some situations that require a CBC staff member to help! View the FAQ below for more information.

Registering online is easy! Visit Web Registration to add or drop a class.

Web Registration

The last day to add a class online is the second day of the quarter. If you wish to register after that, you will need instructor permission for late enrollment.

Some classes will be conducted via Zoom or Canvas during specific times each day. Attendance requirements vary, so contact your instructor for more information.

Login to web registration for more information.

If you have questions, Hawk Central can help via phone at 509-542-4601 or email. If you are emailing us, be sure to use your CBC student email account and include your student ID number in your request.

Once you have completed your Getting Started steps, a Hawk Central specialist will contact you via phone in 1 to 3 business days. At that time, the specialist will schedule you an advising/registration appointment with one of our completion coaches to register for classes. The specialist will also be happy to answer any questions you may have about how to pay for your education.

Still need to complete your Getting Started steps?

You can get instructor permission via email! Be sure to email the instructor from your CBC email account, and include:

  • your full name
  • SID (Student ID Number)
  • Quarter (eg, summer 2021)
  • the 4-digit item number
  • the Course ID (eg, ENGL&101)
  • all permissions you are requesting (add/drop, overload, late enrollment, etc).
    • This means that if you’re requesting an overload after the 2nd day of the quarter, you will also need to request permission for late enrollment. Don’t worry, though—this can all be done in the same email!
    • If you need a prerequisite override, you will need to get both permission from the instructor and the department lead/dean. If you’re not sure who that is, ask the instructor!

If the instructor emails you back with permission, email%20Student%20Records%20 and ask us to add you to the class. Registration requests sent to Student Records must come from YOU, the student (not your instructor) and include your written request to add the class to your schedule. Any registration requests from an email account other than your CBC student email will not be processed.

Adding more than 20 credits requires advisor approval. Just email%20Counseling%20and%20Advising for more information! Be sure to include your name and SID in the email with your request, and send it from your CBC student email account. Any registration requests from an email account other than your CBC student email will not be processed.
Our credentials evaluators are happy to help! Email%20Transcripts so we can take a look and see if you qualify. Be sure to include your name and SID in the email with your request, and send it from your CBC student email account. Any registration requests from an email account other than your CBC student email will not be processed.

  • Quarter (eg, summer 2021)
  • the 4-digit item number
  • the Course ID (eg, ENGL&101)
  • all permissions you are requesting (add/drop, overload, late enrollment, etc).
    • This means that if you’re requesting an overload after the 3rd day of the quarter, you will also need to request permission for late enrollment. Don’t worry, though—this can all be done in the same email!
    • If you need a prerequisite override, you will need to get both permission from the instructor and the department lead/dean. If you’re not sure who that is, ask the instructor!

A Hawk Central Specialist may call you to confirm your registration request.

Just take a photo of the completed form and email Student Records no sooner than the first day of the quarter at 7 am. Students submitting state waivers will be registered in order of receipt, and all documentation must come from your CBC email account to be processed. In your email, please also include:

  • your full name
  • SID (Student ID Number)
  • Quarter (eg, summer 2021)
  • the 4-digit item number of each course you want to register for
  • the Course ID(s) (eg, ENGL&101)

Unable to have a paper form signed and completed by your HR contact? Our Washington State Employee Tuition Waiver is now a fillable form! Your employer’s HR contact can email you in lieu of a signature: just be sure the email includes their name, title, the agency name, and their authorization that you are a permanent employee of the state of Washington, working at least half time. Then, simply forward the email to us along with a copy of the form via your CBC email account with the information requested above. Any registration requests from an email account other than your CBC student email will not be processed.

Need instructor permission for late enrollment/prerequisite override in addition to the waiver? Be sure to email the instructor from your CBC email account, and include:

  • your full name
  • SID (Student ID Number)
  • Quarter (eg, summer 2021)
  • the 4-digit item number
  • the Course ID (eg, ENGL&101)
  • all permissions you are requesting (add/drop, late enrollment, etc).
    • If you are requesting a prerequisite override, you will also need an email from the department lead/dean. If you’re not sure who that is, ask your instructor!

You will then need to forward the permission along with your waiver.

We have created an eForm just for you! Under eForms, select CBC Tuition Waiver Request. Forms will be processed in order of receipt beginning at 7 am on the first day of the quarter.

Need instructor permission for late enrollment/prerequisite override in addition to the waiver? Be sure to email the instructor from your CBC email account, and include:

  • your full name
  • SID (Student ID Number)

  • the 4-digit item number
  • the Course ID (eg, ENGL&101)
  • all permissions you are requesting (add/drop, late enrollment, etc).
    • If you are requesting a prerequisite override, you will also need an email from the department lead/dean. If you’re not sure who that is, ask your instructor!

If the instructor gives you permission, just forward the email%20Student%20Records and mention it’s for your eForm. Any registration requests from an email account other than your CBC email will not be processed.
