I am a practicing artist and exhibit sculpture in national and international venues. My artwork is in both public and private collections including the Michigan Legacy Art Park, the Metal Museum in Memphis, TN and on permanent display at Okayakohan Public Park in Okaya, Japan. I approach my art making, research and exhibition practice as an opportunity for cultural enrichment and engagement with diverse communities; which informs my teaching and fuels my love for art education.
I have gained a diverse perspective through my experiences as an artist, educator and curator; all of which heighten my sensitivity towards the subject matter of art and the populations it serves. I believe in cultivating curiosity, knowledge and appreciation of the arts. I teach Sculpture, 3D Design, 2D Design and Art Appreciation.
I hold a Master of Fine Arts degree from New Paltz State University of New York in Metals and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Illustration from The Columbus College of Art and Design. Artist residencies include The School for American Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder in Trondheim, Norway, Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX and the Metal Museum in Memphis, TN.
