Counseling Services

Columbia Basin College's faculty counselors are professionals holding Master's degrees in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related field, and are Registered or Licensed Counselors in Washington State. Some counselors have specialized certifications and/or credentials.

Our role as counselors and teachers is to help students become responsible for their learning and personal growth.

REASONS FOR SEEING A COUNSELOR

  •  Fears of doing poorly in college or struggling academically;
  •  Career assessments and counseling;

  •  Academic success strategies such as test preparation, test anxiety, and effective study skills;
  •  Developing an academic plan which matches your educational objectives and degree requirements;
  •  Academic probation intervention and planning;
  •  Any other reason you feel is important.

Counselors can provide short-term counseling for a variety of issues. If your problem is of an intense psychological nature, or needing medical intervention, we will help you find appropriate professional services outside of Columbia Basin College.
