Occupational
outlook, or labor market information can tell you what's hot and
what's not in careers. Obviously, you don't want to spend a lot
of time and money preparing for a career that you may find has few or no opportunities. This is
where labor market information can help! Researching careers and
their occupational outlook is an important component of a successful
career plan. It is the best predictor we have as to the types of
jobs that will be available and in what areas of the country.
Labor market
information can provide you with such information as:
1) Detailed
descriptions of careers
2) The
average salary of each occupation
3) The
type of education or training recommended for a particular
career
4) If that
job is growing or declining, and by what percent
5) What
areas of the country you will find job opportunities in that career
field

Information Websites.
