The Columbia Basin College baseball team needed a short memory Sunday.
Hawks absorbed a brutal 17-1 loss to Edmonds in Game 1 of an NWAACC
doubleheader in Pasco and needed to put that one behind them as quickly
But instead of bouncing back in Game 2, CBC starter
Nathan Clark allowed seven runs on eight hits through the first three
innings of a 7-3 loss to the Tritons.
Kyle Olson went 2-for-4
with a pair of doubles in Game 1, scoring three runs and driving in two
more for Edmonds. He followed that up in Game 2 with two more hits, two
RBIs and three stolen bases.
The Tritons pounded out 14 hits
against three Hawks pitchers in the opener, shelling starter Nate
Sorensen for 10 runs on eight hits through four innings. In the
nightcap, Clark had some early trouble on the mound before Ethan Cantu
and Steven Danek backed him up with six scoreless innings of relief.
the damage was done, and CBC couldn’t catch up to a seven-run deficit
despite two hits and two runs from catcher Braden Wolgamott and another
three hits from Ryan Atkinson.
The Hawks fell to 8-8, while Edmonds improved to 9-7.
