Lane 82, CBC women 69: The Hawks struggled from the
free-throw line and it cost them in a loss to Lane Community College in
the semifinals of the at the Chemeketa Holiday Tournament in Salem on
Saturday.
Columbia Basin shot 14-of-26 from the free throw line, while Lane was 26-of-36.
Sierra
Higheagle’s 29 points and five rebounds led the Hawks, while Alicia
Jones added 11 points and seven rebounds and Hannah Depew had seven
points and seven rebounds.
Megan Shields’ 19 points and five rebounds led Lane.
The Hawks will play for third place at 2 p.m. Sunday against Wenatchee Valley.
In
the other semifinal, Chemeketa defeated Wenatchee 64-56. In elimination
games, Highline defeated Treasure Valley 89-53 and Linn-Benton beat
Everett 86-77.
