The Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program accepts students into the program once per year. Applications are available in early August and are accepted between September 1 and October 15 yearly. Classes begin during the winter quarter after acceptance. Acceptance to the program is highly competitive. Applicants are screened according to grades and score on the TEAS exam. Screening occurs using a tool called the Application Index Score Calculator. After the initial index score is computed, applicants are ranked and invited to participate in the interview process. The interview process evaluates applicant's written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of the field. A selection committee chooses the students for the program based on their final Admissions Index Score which includes points awarded for the interview process.
Steps in the application process:
- Attend an information session (required to apply; no reservation necessary).
- Mandatory patient volunteer, attached signed volunteer form is required with application or it will be considered incomplete. Forms are available at your volunteer appointment and must be signed by an instructor. Call 509-544-8309 to schedule an appointment. Please allow 45 minutes as you will be a scanning model for current students.
- Make an appointment with a counselor to create an education plan for getting your prerequisites completed so it coincides with your intended application date.
- Achieve grades of at least a 2.5 in each prerequisite course.
- Take the TEAS exam at the CBC Assessment/Testing Center and achieve a score of 65 or higher (minimum score subject to change, verify on application for the year you are applying).
- Request official transcripts from all colleges attended to be sent to CBC Admissions (your official transcripts will not be evaluated unless there is a current CBC application on file).
- Print the Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology application from this website and fill it out thoroughly. Applications for the Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program are accepted between September 1 and October 15 each year. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Pay the application fee at the Cashier's office on the Pasco campus of CBC.
- Submit all application materials prior to the deadline to the Admissions office on the Pasco campus. Applications turned in after the deadline will not be considered.
