“CAMP is an amazing program that is truly life changing. The guidance, assistance, and care that is given to one makes college so much easier, giving you a better understanding of higher education and a sense of hope for a bright future. Then again, CAMP is more than just a program. It’s a great opportunity to get to know a cohort of students to make your journey through college enjoyable, allowing you to grow as a person and really let's these people become a part of you, like a family.”

“When I began college in 2008 as a college freshman at Columbia Basin College, CAMP helped me grow as a student tremendously. CAMP, which helps first-generation migrant and seasonal farm working students complete and succeed during their first year of college, was quite important in my life. You see, my parents wanted me to pursue higher education, but since I was the first in my family to attend college, it was unknown territory for us. Thankfully though, I was part of the 2008-2009 cohort, and during my first year, CAMP taught me how to pursue and use resources that would help me succeed not only throughout my first year of college, but throughout my entire undergraduate studies.
After completing my AA degree in 2010, I transferred to Gonzaga University. That transition was smooth in great part because of the CAMP program staff who had more than prepared me for the academic challenges I’d encounter at GU. When I graduated from Gonzaga University with my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in dance this past May, I knew that I had acquired the skills to continue my studies and pursue my master’s degree, and much of that support and “know how” came from the CBC CAMP staff; wonderful professionals that served as role models, and allowed me to see how my future could look. And for that, I look up to them, and as the years have progressed, I continue to enjoy their support.”

“CAMP wasn't just a starting point for me, it was the way I was going to pursue my educational goals with a positive attitude and determination. This program not only helped improve my personal skills but gave me the necessary tools to succeed in college. Beside all the advising, mentoring, and endless support I received from the CAMP staff, the one item I treasure the most is their friendship. I truly consider them part of my family. Thank you once again for all you have done and all you continue doing.”

"CAMP has helped me from the very beginning since my first week of school as a freshman at CBC, and is still helping me as a transfer student. The CAMP staff has helped me break out of my shyness and has helped me learn almost everything I need to know about college. They've supported me all the way through my first year and now I know I can finish college and be successful in life. I've enjoyed every day I spent with the CAMP staff and students, especially during the events we had planned and visitations we had made to universities. The program helped me make my first year in college much easier than I thought. With their help, counseling, guidance, and support, CAMP has been the good support and help I've never had. If I could rejoin, I would do it all over again!"
