CBC students have several computer labs and other electronic resources available to assist them in meeting their academic needs.
Library
The library has over 75 desktop computers available for current student use on the Pasco campus and 36 on the Richland Health Science Center campus. To discourage waste and to recover some of the cost of paper, toner, and printer maintenance, a charge of $.05 per page for black & white copies and $.25 per page for color copies will be assessed for printing of full-text articles, emails, assignments, web pages, etc. For more information, go to Library Open Computing Resources.
Tutor & Writing Center
The Tutor and Writing Center provides CBC students free drop-in instructional support in subject areas for which there is high demand. The Tutor and Writing Center is located in TD 434 (in the Lee R. Thornton Center for Science, Diversity and Technology building). There are 20 desktop computers available for student use, and students are encouraged to use the NetPrint system to print. For more information, visit the Tutor and Writing Center page.
Laptop Checkout from the Library
Students with a valid CBC ID can check out a laptop from the library for seven days at a time. Check out on a first come-first serve basis. Wireless CBC network connections are already set up on the laptops. Printing needs to be done through the NetPrint system. For more information, see the Library Laptops for Checkout page.
Connecting to CBC Student Wireless network
To connect to the CBC Student Wireless network, students need to set up their NetAccount. There are also instructions on how to configure your laptop to access the CBC Student Wireless Network. Setting up a wireless account automatically generates a NetPrint account for you.
NetPrint system
The NetPrint system allows students to print from their laptops or on campus desktops (open for student use) to several printing stations around campus using their NetAccount. Students will need to activate their NetAccount first, then Log-in to NetPrint. For instructions on how to use NetPrint, go to NetPrint Accounts and Printers.
Student Email Accounts
Students are responsible for setting up their free CBC student email account. CBC will use your student email account as an official channel of communication. To set up your account, go to Student Email Setup. To access your Email account, go to Student Email Login.
