Before & Beyond Columbia Basin College
Cody joined the CBC Foundation team in November 2010 with the task of
developing a strong Alumni program. She brings years of experience in airline
sales & marketing in Texas, on the East Coast, and the Pacific Northwest. Additionally, Cody worked with American Express travel-related branding and
marketing, small business consulting and ownership, administration, sales, and
marketing. Cody has been an active member of the Tri-Cities community serving
on multiple non-profit boards and committees. She studied communications at
Washington State University, where she received her M.R.S. degree. She has been
happily married to Gary Spanner since 1977.
Cody enjoys traveling and
water related activities: boating on the Columbia River, and paddle boating and
Duffy electric boating around Lake Union, where she and Gary own a houseboat. She claims that gardening and making moss flower baskets are her therapy, or at
least that’s how she justifies the cost of flowers each year.

Quote of the Moment
“Service which is rendered without
joy helps neither the servant nor the served. But all other pleasures and
possessions pale into nothingness before service which is rendered in a spirit
of joy.” ~Ghandi
