All scholarship applications are due February 21 for the following school year. If February 21 falls on a holiday or weekend, the deadline will be the following work day.
Scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 toward tuition and fees for one year (three continuous quarters), renewable each quarter depending on full-time, 12-hour enrollment, and continuing enrollment in Visual Arts or Art Education (student to be enrolled in at least one art course per quarter).
Eligibility: Open to entering freshmen or continuing students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
Application Requirements:

- Letter of recommendation from high school or college instructor (preferably art)
- Completed CBC Foundation Scholarship Application
- Statement of Intent expressing why you want the scholarship and how you will use it to attain your professional goals
- Portfolio of 10-15 works of art
Portfolio Requirements:
- Submit 10 to 15 examples of your artwork, indicating drawing and design skills, and the ability to handle a variety of media
- Two-dimensional work should be matted or mounted; flat work exceeding 30" x 40" when mounted should be represented by slides, photographs, or CD images
- Three-dimensional work must be represented by slides, photographs, or CD images; maximum of three multiple views or details per artwork
- All work must be clearly labeled with the student's name, title of work, medium, and date of completion; indicate the top of slides
- Include a numbered portfolio description sheet of works with your portfolio; indicate title, medium, date, and size of work
Drop Off: Deliver your complete portfolio and CBC Foundation Scholarship Application to the Arts and Humanities Division office (located in the P building) by February 21. Call 509-542-5531 for office hours.
Review: Scholarship materials and portfolios will be reviewed and juried by CBC and community artists/instructors.
Pick Up: Please pick up your portfolio by the second week of March at the Arts & Humanities Division office.
Notification: Notification will be sent by mail. Note: Allied Arts Exhibit Curator will also notify Allied Arts Scholarship winners.
