A. Fine/Fee Information
- Overdue fines for items from the regular circulating collection are $ .15 per item/per day. The maximum overdue fine is $10 per item. Material from the circulating collection converts to "lost" after thirty days and then lost materials fines are imposed.
- Fines for "Reserve" books (1 and 3 days, 1 week checkout) and circulating videos (7 day) are $1 per item/per day. The maximum overdue fine is $20 per item. The overdue reserve material converts to "lost" after thirty days and then lost materials fines are imposed.
- Lost materials fines consist of a surcharge and a replacement fee. The surcharge for lost items is $20 per item. Replacement fee is the cost to replace the item.
- Fines for Recreational books are $ .10 per item, per day. The maximum overdue fine is $5. Since all recreational books are donated, a minimal surcharge of $5 (versus $20) is charged to recover the cost of generating and mailing the paperwork. In addition, a replacement fee for lost recreational books does not apply. Instead, we encourage students to donate a similar recreational item to replace the item that was lost.
- When books are returned to the library and the white security card is missing from the book pocket, $1 per card will be assessed for each missing card. A reminder of this charge is affixed to each security card and visible from the book pocket.
- If an item is returned damaged, a penalty will be assessed according to our Damaged Material Charge procedure.
