The Columbia Basin College Library works with other college departments to offer art and special displays for public viewing. The Library's exhibition space consists of approximately 76 running feet of wall space plus five pedestals with Plexiglas covers and a triangular counter space for three-dimensional works. The library exhibit space allows a unique opportunity for exhibiting student and faculty art, as well as special displays.
Exhibits are scheduled in accordance with our Exhibit Procedure, often in coordination with the CBC Visual Arts department and CBC Office of Diversity & Outreach. Library exhibition agreement forms are available at the library. Visit our CBC Library News & Notes blog for examples of past displays and art exhibits.
Exhibit Procedure
Purpose
The Library provides opportunities to individuals and organizations to display materials temporarily in designated display areas within the Library. Exhibits inform, educate, and promote the Library's information resources and services, and, at times, entertain. The exhibits provide an excellent opportunity for the Library to collaborate with other campus entities and community organizations. Exhibits are not accepted from for-profit organizations. For-profit organizations are defined as those whose primary purpose is the sale of property or services for monetary gain. The Library will not discriminate in making the exhibit areas available on the basis of race, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, political affiliation, or physical limitation. Use of the exhibit area does not constitute sponsorship or endorsement by Columbia Basin College or the Library.
