Before and Beyond CBC Foundation
Bob moved to the Tri-Cities in 1984 and became Foundation Executive Director
in 2008. Prior to joining the Foundation, Bob worked as a business development
consultant for six years and retired in 2002 from the Department of Energy with
35 years of federal service. In his last position with the Department Richland
Operations office, he served as the Deputy Manager for Business
Operations.
Bob has been active with various community volunteer
activities. He was the first President of the Richland Education Foundation and
in addition served on a number of school board committees. He was the head of
United Way’s combined federal campaign for 18 years, worked on the board of the
Children’s Development Center, and is currently active on the board of Columbia
Industries. But his greatest love has been the opportunity to coach youth
baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer teams both here and in Washington,
D.C.
When not working or volunteering, Bob loves to keep active hiking, biking,
skiing, gardening, cooking (especially Italian cuisine), reading, and fixing
whatever. He is married to a retired teacher, Nancy, and has three grown
children, three grandchildren, and a friendly black Labrador named Jake.
Night Table Reading
Bob enjoys a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction books. He has read all
of John Grisham’s novels and just finished the Social Animal by David
Brooks.
