Marsha Halverson received her Associate's degree from Columbia Basin College in
1970 and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Washington
State University in 1972.
Marsha's family is one of the original homesteaders in this area and for the
past 34 years Marsha has taught in elementary schools in the Pasco School
District. In 1998, Marsha was selected as Southeastern Washington Teacher of the
Year. She has served as the President of the Teacher's Union, Pasco Association
Educator, and Washington Education Association Southeast.
Marsha began
the tradition in her family of attending CBC; as many of her siblings, nieces,
and nephews have since attended the College. She credits the College for giving
her the opportunity to get an education that lifted her up to reach her dreams.
In 2007, Marsha was named Columbia Basin College's Alumna of the year.
