Information Sessions
Please attend one of the EMT, Paramedic, or Fire Science Information Sessions. Your questions will be answered by a program representative. Everyone interested in a CBC Health Sciences program should attend. These sessions are free and open to the public. Students, friends, and family members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Apply for Admission to Columbia Basin College
Before you can apply to the EMT program, you must be admitted to the college. Please go to the Apply for Admission page on the CBC website to enroll online or request a paper application.
Minimum Admission Requirements
Completion of English 099 or higher and Reading 099 or higher is strongly recommended for the EMT Program.
Application for Consideration into the Emergency Medical Technician Course
The Emergency Medical Technician course is offered every fall and spring quarters. The EMT application process is competitive. Students must submit an application with a letter of intent outlining how the applicant plans to use their EMT certification, as well as participate in an assessment of applicants; criteria is teamwork, communication skills, reading, and comprehension skills.
Accepted students into EMT or Paramedic, are required to use the college approved vendor to complete a national background check, obtain specific immunizations, provide proof of a valid driver’s license, and agree to a specific code of ethics. BLS Provider CPR training class will be scheduled for students for this program and attendance is mandatory.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Application
The 2018 EMT application process for Spring quarter is now open. Click on this link 2018 EMT application to print out the application. The due date for the Fall quarter application is July 10, 2018. Please fill out the application and hand it in, with the required documentation, no later than 12:00pm on the due date to Hawk Central in the H Building on the Pasco campus.
The mandatory EMT Assessment Center for Fall quarter applicants is tentatively scheduled for July 24, 2018, at 6:00pm and will be held at the Medical Science Center located at 940 Northgate Drive in Richland.
