Aerospace Quality Assurance/Inspection
The Quality Assurance/Inspection short term certificate program has been developed in collaboration with The Boeing Company, other aerospace companies, and 11 community and technical colleges receiving funding through the Governor’s Initiative for Aerospace. The partnership’s purpose is to develop short-term training programs providing entry-level positions in meeting an urgent aerospace workforce need and create a well-trained competitive aerospace workforce long term. Quality Assurance/Inspection workers are involved at every stage of the production process; some examine materials received from a supplier before sending them to the production line, others inspect components and assemblies or perform a final check on the finished product. Depending on their skill level, inspectors also may set up and text equipment, calibrate precision instruments, repair defective products, or record data.
