September 23 – October 24, 2013
Opening Reception: 2 PM, on September 25 in the Esvelt Gallery.
Cuban born artist Alejandro Mazon will present his works of art which are a blend of paint, collage, found objects and constructed elements. By using objects discarded by Americans, and evoking imagery from past artists such as Hieronymus Bosch, Velazquez, Francisco Goya, and the Mexican Muralists, Mazon explores his past in Cuba and how he struggles to identify his place in America. His work has an anachronistic feel, distinctly classical but still relevant to today.
The opening reception will take place in the Esvelt Gallery at 2pm on September 25 with an opening talk by CBC Diversity Director Martin Valdez.
Monday-Thursday, 8 AM-8:30 PM
Friday, 8 AM-12 PM
Saturday- Sunday, CLOSED
The Esvelt Gallery would like to thank the ASCBC for its support.
