A Gold Card is an identification card issued to individuals 60 years and older who apply for it. It serves as an identification card to facilitate registration and admittance to selected Columbia Basin College classes and events.

Q. Who is eligible for a Gold Card?
A. Anyone age 60 or older.
Q. How may I obtain a Gold Card?

Q. In which classes may I enroll?
A. Gold Card holders are eligible to enroll in CBC classes, with the exception of special fee and self-support classes.
Q. When may I enroll?
A. Gold Card holders are eligible to enroll starting with the third day of each quarter, with enrollment contingent upon space availability. Gold Card enrollees shall not be counted toward the total number of minimum students needed in order for class to be held. Registration must be done in person at the Admissions office, located in the H building (online registration is not available).
Q. How am I enrolled for Columbia Basin College courses as a Gold Card holder?
A. You are enrolled on an "audit" basis. This means you will not be permitted to take exams or earn college credit; however, you may attend class, participate in class discussion, and keep a notebook on class lectures.
Q. Do I pay registration or tuition fees?
A. The basic fee is $1 per class plus $1.65 per credit, comprehensive fees, and/or lab fees if applicable to class. Limit of two classes per quarter.
Q. Do I get a Gold Card Member student ID card?
A. Yes, once you have registered for classes as a Gold Card member and paid tuition and fees, you may visit the ID counter in Admissions. Be sure to bring your photo ID.
Q. What other benefits do Gold Card holders have at Columbia Basin College?
A. With the exception of summer quarter, Gold Card holders may attend Columbia Basin College-sponsored events, music and drama presentations, athletics, guest speakers, and campus entertainment, at no cost.
