How to setup student Email on Android

Note: BEGINNING OCTOBER 2022, Microsoft is requiring email clients that connect to Exchange to use OAuth 2.0 for authentication.  This means the typical email setup may no longer work, and you will need to use the official Outlook App. There are many Android devices that can vary in their appearance and functionality. The screenshots may not match what you see on your screen. This procedure is meant as a general guide to help students set up their CBC email on an Android phone. If you experience any difficulties, stop by Technology Services helpdesk and we'll be happy to assist you.

Short procedure

1. Add a new Exchange account, providing your CBC email address and password
2. If asked for server name, enter outlook.office365.com

Detailed procedure with screenshots

1. Find "Play Store" on your phone.

2. Search “Outlook” in the search box and tap "Install".

3. Open the Outlook app and select "Add Account”.

4. On the next screen, enter your email in the text box and then click "Continue".

If you have an authenticator, please see below, otherwise proceed to step 3.
5. Enter your password and tap “Sign in”.

6. You will be prompted to add another email account. Select "Maybe Later."

7. You are done! To view your email, open the "Outlook" app. Your new account is now added and will begin syncing your mail and calendar shortly. You can check your email by opening the “Outlook” app.

Authenticator Users

If you have Microsoft Authenticator App you will get a similar prompt asking you to enter in password in the Authenticator app, otherwise Outlook will simply ask you to enter in your password.
