Columbia Basin College has partnered with Higher One, a financial services company focused on helping students like you get the most out of your money. If you are new to this service, it’s only natural that you may have some questions. Continue through this website to find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Higher One, the choices for receiving money from CBC, and your new CBC Hawk Card Debit MasterCard®.
Who receives a CBC Hawk Card?
Students who are awarded financial aid (grants, student loans, some scholarships, etc.) will be sent a CBC Hawk Card to their address on file in Registration. Students should make sure that their address is correct by checking the Student Kiosk.
This card is the key to selecting your preference. DO NOT LOSE.
NOTE: There is no cost for your first card. However, there is a replacement fee of $20 for the replacement of activated cards, payable when the replacement is ordered.
What do I do when I receive the card?
The CBC Hawk Card is the key to selecting your preference of how you would like to receive your disbursement. Activate your card as soon as you receive it at cbchawkcard.com by selecting the “GET STARTED” button or click the "Activate Your Card" button below.
NOTE: If you do not select a preference immediately, a paper check will automatically be mailed to the address on file 21 days after the funds are sent to Higher One. Regardless of your preference selection, KEEP YOUR CARD.
