Hanford graduate Riley Shintaffer scored the go-ahead run
for Centralia in Game 1 of an NWAACC doubleheader, coming home on on
John Piper’s RBI single in the ninth, in a 3-2 win over CBC.
The
Hawks (2-2) bounced back with a 12-6 win in the nightcap, as Ryan
Atkinson and Kenton Brunson combined for six hits and five RBIs. CBC
trailed 2-0 early on but scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth
thanks to four infield errors — three by third baseman Ben Smith — to
take the lead.
