Columbia Basin College will host College Goal Sunday on January 27 from 1-3 p.m. in the Lee R. Thornton Center.
College Goal Sunday is a state-wide program that provides information and assistance to Washington families applying for college financial aid. Students are invited to attend with a parent or guardian and should bring their parents’ completed 2012 IRS tax return or other 2012 income and benefits information. Students will also need their Social Security number, driver’s license (if they have one), and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) pin number. If parents are unable to attend, students may attend alone and bring their parents’ tax return or other income information.
Those 24-years-old or older need only to bring their 2012 income information, Social Security number, driver’s license, and FASFA pin number. Anyone who is not a U.S. citizen should bring their alien registration card. If families have not yet completed their tax returns by this date, they can complete the form using estimated information. Financial aid professionals will give instructions for correcting the income portion when taxes have been completed.
Students who attend and register on www.theWashBoard.org will be eligible to win a college scholarship from the Northwest Education Loan Association.
