Freddy Izaguirre of Pasco, WA is staring in the upcoming production of Ken Ludwig’s “The Fox on the Fairway” at Richland Players Theater. The play is a madcap comedy about love, life and golf. The show opens Friday, November 2nd and runs November 2, 3, 9, 10,11, 16, 17, 18th.
Freddy is from El Salvador and moved here with his family when he was 5 years old. While attending Columbia Basin College in Pasco he had the opportunity to audition for the Dell’Arte International School of Theater and won a Diversity Scholarship to study in the San Francisco Bay area.
While working with the Kaiser Permanente Educational Theater Program his work permit expired. He tried to fill out the paperwork himself and didn’t seek any knowledgeable counsel. It was rejected by the Department of Homeland Security and sent back to him. By this time they had already taken his money, but he missed the deadline and was kicked out of the Program because he was no longer eligible. Laid off, evicted, undocumented and homeless in San Francisco Freddy scrapped by picking up acting jobs here and there and working where he could.
Finally, after 6 months he had saved up enough money to come home, live with family and start over. In April of this year Freddy became a lawful resident of the US. He now has regained the confidence he needs and hopes of going back and pursuing his dreams again. Catch Freddy this weekend at the Richland Players: 608 The Parkway in Richland.
