Columbia Basin College will be celebrating Constitution Day on Thursday, October 4, starting at 8 a.m. Games, prizes and the opportunity to register to vote will be available to students between 8 and 10 a.m. at the Outdoor Pavilion on the CBC Pasco campus. Dr. Gary Bullert will present a lecture titled “Mexican Immigration & the Constitution” at 11 a.m. in the HUB Congress Room.
Students can also add their thoughts to the Freedom of Speech Wall all day in the HUB.
CBC’s Office of Student Success and Engagement will be hosting these events.
A Franklin County and 16th District Debate will be held in the Gjerde Center at CBC at 6:30 p.m. Confirmed debate participants are Maureen Walsh and Mary Ruth Edwards for 16th District State Representative; Mark Faith and Brad Peck for Franklin County Commissioner, District 1; and Bob Koch and Al Yenney for Franklin County Commissioner, District 2.
A Statewide Initiative Forum will be held in the Gjerde Center at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 8. The topics are charter schools, marriage equality, and medical marijuana.
