Columbia Basin College names Kennewick Police Chief Ken Hohenberg the CBC Alumnus of the Year.
Administrators, teachers, and community members gathered this morning to honor the Chief. The board says they chose Hohenberg for his outstanding support for the College, his work as Police Chief, and his dedication to the Tri-Cities.
"I don't feel like I am deserving of the award. I feel like I have a lot of work to do to pay back. But I'm very honored and I'm in a position that I'm able to make a difference in the community and a lot of that is a direct result of Columbia Basin College and what they've done for me."
Hohenberg graduated from CBC with a degree in Law Enforcement and still credits much of his success to the College's first Criminal Justice Instructor, the late Jim Ownby.
