Information Sessions
Surgical Technology information sessions are available to answer questions about program requirements. This program has a mandatory attendance requirement in order to be considered. Anyone interested in a CBC health science program is encouraged to attend. These sessions are free and open to the public. Students' friends and family members are welcome and encouraged to attend any of these sessions.
Pre-requisities for Acceptance
College transcripts of applicants into the Surgical Technology program will be reviewed for the following courses:
- BIOL& 241 Anatomy & Physiology I w/ lab
- BIOL& 242 Anatomy & Physiology II w/ lab
- BIOL& 260 Microbiology w/ lab
- MATH& 106+ Math 106 or above (except Math 109)
- ENGL& 101 English Composition
- PSYC& 100 General Psychology
- Speech: CMST 101 or CMST 110 or CMST 210 or CMST 220 or CMST 260
- HSCI 147 Medical Terminology (was HIT 147)
Applicants may be required to provide a copy of the following documentation:
- Certificate of Completion for seven hours of HIV/AIDS Bloodborne Pathogens Training
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider HCP CPR/AED
- Current First Aid card
Accepted applicants may be contacted for an interview before selection is determined.
Accepted applicants will be mailed a letter explaining required documentation before registration into fall quarter:
- Mandatory orientation during summer may be required
- National background history search by the College-approved vendor
- Certificate of Completion for seven hours of HIV/AIDS Bloodborne Pathogens Training
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider HCP CPR/AED
- Current First Aid card
The 2013-2014 Surgical Technology program application will be available on this page the end of May, 2013 and will have a due date of mid July to the CBC Health Science Center office in Richland.
