Students pursuing a degree or certificate, whether here at CBC or another college, or taking a course for which there is a prerequisite must submit official academic transcripts from all previously attended accredited colleges or universities for evaluation of transfer credits.
- CBC accepts credits transferred from regionally accredited institutions via official transcripts received in a sealed envelope or sent electronically through our Washington state Student Management System (SMS), or authorized online service provider.
- All transcripts must be received prior to the end of the student's second quarter.
- Students with credentials from a foreign country wanting to transfer those courses must submit copies of official transcripts translated into English and evaluated on a course-by-course basis by a NACES® member certified translation agency.
- Prior to evaluating transfer credits, students must submit a completed Application for Admission to CBC.
Submit official transcripts to:
Columbia Basin College
Attn: Student Records
2600 North 20th Ave.
Pasco, WA 99301
Electronically sent transcripts submitted directly from colleges or authorized online service providers are sent to: transcripts@columbiabasin.edu.
Evaluation of Transcripts:
- When the evaluation has been completed, students will be mailed a Worksheet for Evaluation of Transfer Credit showing a course-by-course equivalency and the total number of credits accepted.
- The evaluation will be completed when all official transcripts have been received by the Student Records office.
- Transcripts are evaluated based on the quarter/year the student plans to start and the order in which they are received.
If students wish clarification on an evaluation determination, they are encouraged to contact Student Records.
It is recommended that students make an individual appointment with a CBC advisor to review how transfer credits will apply to a CBC degree or certificate.
In lieu of an official transcript, an unofficial transcript may be used one quarter only for purposes of advising and registration. Unofficial transcripts may be accessed through a college’s website. For more detailed information on the transfer evaluation process, contact Student Records.
