Students pursuing a degree or certificate or taking a course for which there is a prerequisite must submit official academic transcripts from previously attended accredited colleges or universities for evaluation of transfer credits. CBC accepts credits transferred from Regionally accredited institutions. Prior to evaluating transfer credits, students must submit a completed Application for Admission and pay the Admissions Application Fee.
When the evaluation has been completed, students will be mailed a Worksheet for Evaluation of Transfer Credit showing a course-by-course equivalency and the total number of credits accepted. The evaluation will be completed when all official transcripts have been received by the Records office. Transcripts are evaluated based on the quarter/year the student plans to start and the order in which they are received.
If students wish clarification on an evaluation determination, they are encouraged to contact the Records office.
It is recommended that students make an individual appointment with a CBC advisor to review how transfer credits will apply to a CBC degree or certificate.
Unofficial transcripts may be accessed through a college website. An unofficial copy can be used for advising purposes until you receive the official evaluation results. For more detailed information on the transfer evaluation process, contact Records.
