What is a Student Ambassador?
A Student Ambassador is a student leader who serves as liaison, spokesperson, and advocate for CBC. Ambassadors must have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and commitment to integrity. CBC Ambassadors are highly motivated and energetic. These students possess effective decision making skills, the ability to motivate others, and a willingness to work as a team.
Being involved in the Student Ambassador program is a great way to meet new people, develop new skills, and play a leadership role on campus! Ambassadors are interested in working with CBC administration, faculty, students, federal programs, and the Admissions office and Office of Diversity to promote the College's mission, programs, and services. Ambassadors uphold all standards and expectations that are associated with our mission at CBC. They have a strong work ethic, natural leadership abilities, are committed to fulfilling their academic obligations, and are role models to all perspective students.
Since the program began during the 2000-2001 school year, Ambassadors have played a vital role in attracting new students to CBC. The Student Ambassador program allows students the opportunity to participate in various public relations, recruiting, and leadership activities at CBC, including:
- Assisting during new student orientation processes
- Giving campus tours
- Assisting with special events such as college nights, parent nights, financial aid presentations, seminars, commencement, and various cultural and community events
- Placement as a liaison with a local high school and with a specific program or department of the College
- Involvement in community early outreach efforts and off-campus recruitment
